2003............... Began offsetting our greenhouse gas emissions by purchasing
renewable energy credits.
Keurig’s first at-home brewer, the B100, is launched.
2004............... Began efforts to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint
by reducing waste and purchasing renewable energy credits.
Launched Anti-Idling initiative to save fuel.
New, $9 million, 52,000 square foot distribution center opens
in Waterbury.
2005............... Agreement signed with McDonald’s to serve Newman’s Own
Organics Blend in the Northeast.
2006............... Green Mountain Coffee Roasters acquires Keurig, Incorporated.
Green Mountain Coffee helps develop an eco-friendly hot paper
cup, and introduces cold beverage cups and lids made from
renewable resources.
Visitor Center and Café opens at the Waterbury train station in VT.
2006/2007...... Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is the first company to be
named #1 on list of “100 Best Corporate Citizens” two years in a
row.
2007............... Converted all Waterbury-based delivery vehicles to biodiesel.
Gombe Reserve coffee launched, in cooperation with the Jane
Goodall Institute.
Updated Newman’s Own Organics and Single Origin 10-oz.
packaging to include 19.4% polylactic acid (PLA), a polymer
derived from natural resources. Converted all bags in 2008.
87,000 square foot facility in Essex, VT opens.
