A Brief History
When we opened our doors in 1981 as a small café in Waitsfield, Vermont, we set out to make great coffee and change the way the world views business. We wanted to show that a business could be successful while enriching the communities it serves. Since then, GMCR has seen continual growth. As we have partnered with other businesses across North America, we are poised for even greater success.

Over the years, we've extended our brand with successful acquisitions that include Keurig®, Tully’s®, Timothy’s®, Diedrich® and Van Houtte®, and strategic relationships with companies such as JM Smucker®, Starbucks®, Newman’s Own Organics® and Dunkin’ Donuts®. We’ve also forged partnerships with Cuisinart®, Breville® and Mr. Coffee® to help us implement cutting edge technology and continuous product innovations.
